Is it any wonder that so many women are fat.
After 20 years in the fitness business I have come to the conclusion that many women have simply given up on being healthy and stopped trying to take better care of themselves. They have made a soft, doughy little home in their laziness and have taken their physical health or lack there of for granted. They have gotten very good at tuning out their bodies cravings for physical activity. Bodies that are crying to be put to use physically for more than clicking the computer mouse or turning on the car ignition.
Many people care more about their job, money, family, friends, pets, homes, possessions - and on and on - than they do about their own health. For a staggering number of women - it is not until the body's warning signals have turned to system breakdown that they finally sit-up and take notice of what's going on in their bodies. Since it usually takes a doctor and the impending news of a heart attack, adult onset diabetes, osteoporosis, digestion malfunctions or fill-in-the-blank-here, that forces them to take back the reins of their health. Women, especially are notorious for this, they will take care of everyone else but leave no time, no energy, no focus for themselves. It's truly a sin and the sooner people, again, women in particular realize that their fat can often be chalked up to an accumulation of a myriad of years spent taking care of everyone else and their needs while negating their own, the sooner they will lose the fat and gain back their life.
This scenario described Adriana - all 252lbs of her. At 31-years old she has spent most of her twenties taking care of everyone else with nothing left to take care of herself. Hence the pattern of turning to food to self medicate and reward and, plopping herself in front of the TV to unwind and doing absolutely no exercise.
